Telstra’s Yarrowyck Reforestation Trial: Technology for Climate Action

Telstra partnered with AirSeed to conduct a 240-hectare reforestation trial in Yarrowyck, northern NSW, planting 158,000 native trees and shrubs to store 160,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide over 25 years.

Located on the traditional lands of the Anaiwan and Kamilaroi/Gomeroi peoples, the project aimed to restore the landscape, improve drought and flood resilience, and contribute to a wildlife corridor between the Gwydir River and the Northern Tablelands.

Part of Telstra’s Environment Strategy, this initiative contributed to its goal of 100% renewable energy by 2025 and a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030, setting a benchmark for corporate climate action in Australia.
